What We Do

The IRI National Beer Sales & Service Team (NBSS) is a specialized business unit of Information Resources, Inc. (IRI) responsible for providing client service solely to Beer and Cider manufacturers, importers, wholesalers, associations, and trade publications.

NBSS is pleased to announce the official launch of Phase II of our syndicated InfoScanĀ® beer service offering available fourth quarter of 2002. This new offering consists of a standard store level data package and various add-on reports geared towards Beer and Cider distributors. The store level reports will allow distributors to view competitive sales-to-consumer data for the releasable IRI-tracked stores specific to their respective sales territory. In addition, a distributor will be able to receive custom aggregates of stores to reflect its total IRI-tracked sales territory. The IRI store level reports will help distributors better understand marketplace sales opportunities and trends and how their products are selling versus the competition.

Phase I of our syndicated InfoScanĀ® beer service offering provides web-based quarterly reports designed to provide detailed information on sales, share, distribution, pricing, and promotion for both small and medium-sized U.S. Beer and Cider manufacturers and importers. InfoBeerUSA has four report package offerings for clients to choose from in a variety of price ranges. The reports are generated using IRI's premier definition of the Beer and Cider Category. IRI defines the category as being comprised of the following seven segments: Imports, Micro/Craft, Cider, Malternatives, Domestic Premium, Domestic Sub-Premium and Non-Alcohol.

IRI's NBSS team also provides client consultation and offers a full suite of specialized IRI services and solutions designed to address a variety of industry or client specific needs.

Example offerings include:

  • Providing insight into consumer purchase behavior through use of IRI Household Panel data
  • Tracking new product sales and distribution
  • Measuring the impact of in-store merchandising conditions
  • Identifying out-of-stock items
  • Understanding a product's price elasticity
  • Tracking competitive category data (Wine Cooler, Wine, Distilled Spirits, etc.)
  • Training on how to better utilize fact-based sales information
